About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager. This Senior Investment Director role operates at near-Partner level within the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund, leading the full private equity lifecycle including origination, underwriting, structuring, execution, portfolio value creation and exits. The role requires representing the Fund with C-suite executives, shareholders, regulators and investors.
Key responsibilities
Build proprietary deal pipelines across priority infrastructure themes through networks with sponsors, governments and advisors; anticipate market trends and regulatory shifts
Lead equity and quasi-equity investment evaluations with a focus on high returns and downside protection
Hold board representation responsibility for portfolio companies; establish and monitor KPIs and value creation initiatives
Own exit strategy from entry; lead sell-side processes and manage co-shareholder alignment
Build senior relationships with co-investors, development finance institutions and government principals
Lead multi-disciplinary teams, set analytical standards and mentor investment professionals
Key requirements
15–20+ years in private equity or growth equity with PE discipline
Demonstrated track record leading transactions as principal deal lead, serving on boards and executing realisations
Expert-level valuation, modelling and investment structuring capabilities
Strong transaction documentation and negotiation expertise
Deep understanding of African regulatory and tax environments
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent
Fluent English

Prior Africa market experience
MBA, MSc or CFA qualification
French language fluency
