Summary
Africa50 is seeking an Associate Investment Director to originate, lead and execute transport and ICT infrastructure development investments through financial close.
About the role
Working with Investment Directors and senior leadership, this role provides transaction leadership and commercial judgement across Africa50's Transport and ICT Project Development vertical. It manages project teams, senior stakeholder relationships and selected investments from identification through transition.
Key responsibilities
Originate and prioritise transport and ICT infrastructure opportunities using sector, country and sponsor expertise.
Lead project-development strategy, governance, budgets and pathways to bankability and financial close.
Structure complex PPPs, concessions and other public-private delivery models, including capital structures and risk allocation.
Direct multidisciplinary diligence, negotiations, investor and lender engagement, and investment-committee submissions.
Lead project teams and contribute to vertical strategy, pipeline prioritisation and professional development.
Key requirements
At least ten years of experience in transport or ICT infrastructure project development, investment, project finance, PPP/concession advisory, private equity, a DFI or investment banking.
Demonstrated record of leading complex infrastructure transactions or development projects toward financial close or major milestones.
Strong transaction structuring, diligence, negotiation, project-finance modelling and stakeholder-management skills.
Excellent English; French, Portuguese or another relevant African language is an advantage. Postgraduate study and African/emerging-market experience are preferred.
