Summary
Africa50 is seeking an Investment Analyst to support transport and ICT infrastructure project development, from early screening and modelling through diligence, structuring and financial close.
About the role
Within Africa50's Project Development team, the role supports investments in transport, logistics and digital infrastructure. The Analyst works with senior colleagues to assess opportunities, build bankable project cases and progress transactions with public and private-sector partners across Africa.
Key responsibilities
Build and maintain project-finance models covering revenues, costs, financing assumptions, returns and sensitivities.
Research transport and ICT markets, countries, sponsors, policies and potential project-development opportunities.
Support screening, investment structuring and transaction execution for PPPs, concessions and other public-private delivery models.
Coordinate financial, commercial, technical, legal, tax and ESG diligence workstreams and prepare decision materials.
Support negotiations, project monitoring and engagement with public authorities, sponsors, lenders, DFIs and other investors.
Key requirements
One to three years of relevant experience in infrastructure project development, project finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, private equity, a DFI or a related institution.
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering or another relevant discipline; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Strong financial modelling, valuation, research and analytical skills.
Professional written and spoken English; French is highly desirable, and Portuguese or another relevant African language is an advantage.
