Summary
Africa50 is recruiting an Investment Associate to evaluate, structure and execute transport and ICT infrastructure development investments across Africa.
About the role
The Investment Associate manages analytical and transaction workstreams within Africa50's Project Development team. The role contributes from opportunity screening through internal approvals, financing and financial close, working with internal specialists and external project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
Develop pipeline intelligence through sector, country, sponsor and policy research.
Build and maintain project-finance models and support investment structuring for PPPs, concessions and equity investments.
Manage diligence workstreams, review transaction documentation and prepare investment materials.
Support debt and equity mobilisation, negotiations and engagement with lenders, DFIs, investors and public-sector counterparts.
Monitor development plans, budgets, approvals, conditions precedent and transaction timelines.
Key requirements
Four to seven years of relevant experience in transport or digital infrastructure development, project finance, investment, PPP or concession advisory, private equity, a DFI or investment banking.
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, law or another relevant discipline; an MBA, MSc or equivalent is preferred.
Strong financial modelling, valuation, project-finance and transaction-analysis capability.
Excellent English; French, Portuguese or another relevant African language is an advantage.
