About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager. This Senior Investment Associate role within the AGIA programme focuses on identifying and executing project development investments supporting green infrastructure across Africa, including renewable energy, climate resilience and sustainable urban development.
Key responsibilities
Build a pipeline of opportunities by analysing market trends and leveraging sector expertise
Structure project development and equity investments
Lead or participate in negotiations with sponsors, lenders and public sector stakeholders
Oversee Africa50’s contribution to portfolio project development, ensuring bankable outcomes
Develop expertise in project and concession financing
Create project documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Cultivate relationships with infrastructure companies, financial partners and government officials
Supervise portfolio companies
Key requirements
8–12 years of investment/industry experience in project development, project finance or investment in power and/or transport sectors
Experience in utilities, investment banking, DFIs, advisory firms or infrastructure private equity
MBA, MSc or equivalent degree
Project management experience
Understanding of concession agreements, PPAs, EPCs and O&M contracts
Proven transaction-closing track record
Fluent English; French required, Portuguese advantageous
Nice to have
Deep knowledge of power and transport sectors
PPP structuring and project finance expertise
Prior African infrastructure experience and relationships
