About the role

Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investment platform that closes the infrastructure gap through private investment in African infrastructure projects. The Infrastructure Acceleration Fund internship offers candidates the opportunity to be part of the growth story of a dynamic and growing pan-African organisation. The role focuses on private equity investment fundamentals and financial modelling skills in an entrepreneurial setting, running from September 2026 to February 2027.

Key responsibilities

Conduct industry, market and company research

Support the development and audit of financial models for infrastructure investments and portfolio companies

Assist in the execution of Africa50's investment transactions

Prepare investment memos and presentation materials for internal and external audiences

Support due diligence processes

Monitor portfolio company performance

Support the investment team in non-core investment activities including marketing and corporate initiatives

Key requirements

Prior internship experience in financial services: M&A, investment banking, private equity, financial advisory, transaction services, or strategic consulting

Fluency in English (French beneficial)

Strong financial modelling and company valuation capabilities

Excellent analytical abilities

Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Superior written and verbal communication skills

High initiative and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Strong work ethic and cultural sensitivity

Nice to have

Demonstrated interest or experience in emerging markets, particularly Africa
