About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager that has mobilised over US$1 billion from 33 African countries, regional development institutions and major pension funds. The Infrastructure Acceleration Fund (IAF) invests across Power & Energy, Water & Sanitation, Transport & Logistics, and Digital & Social Infrastructure. Associates work closely with senior team members and engage with management teams and external advisors across the full investment lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
Develop investment pipelines by identifying market trends using sector and country expertise
Execute financial modelling and investment valuations
Coordinate due diligence workstreams across financial, commercial, legal, technical and ESG disciplines
Engage in sponsor negotiations and support deal documentation
Create project materials for internal and external stakeholders
Monitor portfolio performance and assess exit opportunities
Key requirements
6–10 years’ experience in investment banking, M&A or private equity
Advanced degree (MBA, MA or MSc)
Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities
Emerging markets experience preferred
Fluent English; French advantageous
Nice to have
Background in power/gas, transportation, digital infrastructure, water, sanitation, healthcare or education
Prior Africa-focused investment experience
Living experience in emerging economies
