About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investment platform dedicated to closing the infrastructure gap through private investment in African projects. This internship sits within the Finance department, reporting to the Portfolio Performance Manager and supporting the broader Portfolio team. The role offers hands-on exposure to infrastructure investment monitoring, valuation support, and performance reporting across Africa50's active portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Collect, consolidate, validate, and maintain financial, operational, and investment data for portfolio monitoring, valuation, and reporting
Support updates to portfolio databases, KPI trackers, dashboards, and reporting templates
Research industry, market, and macroeconomic developments affecting Africa50's portfolio
Prepare portfolio reports and presentation materials for Management, Investment Committee, and the Board
Follow up with Investment, Finance, and other teams on information requests and data gaps
Contribute to ad hoc portfolio analysis and process improvements
Key requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
Strong academic record with demonstrated interest in investments, corporate finance, or infrastructure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical and numerical abilities with excellent attention to detail
Strong research, written communication, and presentation skills
Proficiency in English and French (written and verbal)
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
Nice to have
Previous internship, coursework, or project work in private equity, investment banking, transaction advisory, asset management, or consulting
Financial modelling experience or familiarity with data visualisation and business intelligence tools
