About the role
The Sustainability Manager at ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment Limited will support the Chief Investment Officer in the development and execution of the firm's ESG and climate strategy across the full investment process, from deal screening and due diligence through portfolio value creation, exit readiness, and post-exit assessment. ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment Limited is a Nigeria-based infrastructure fund manager registered and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria, focused on private equity infrastructure investments across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Key responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain sustainability initiatives, policies, and action plans across the investment process aligned with Fund Manager and Funds' goals
Oversee ESG and climate due diligence for all transactions, including driving ESIA and ESAP development and recommendations
Maintain structured ESG/climate scoring models used in screening, IC materials, and valuations; identify material risks and define mitigation actions before capital deployment
Establish baseline KPIs and climate pathways for each investment; embed ESG/climate obligations in legal agreements with portfolio assets
Implement ESG and climate transformation plans, driving decarbonisation, governance strengthening, H&S improvements, and operational efficiency across portfolio assets
Conduct periodic monitoring, audits, and data analysis to validate portfolio data and track KPI performance against fund-wide targets
Prepare ESG and climate sell-side materials and data rooms for exit; support CIO/MD in defining buyer narratives and ensuring audit-ready impact claims
Operationalise the fund's climate transformation strategy including GHG accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3) and climate-risk scenario analysis aligned with IFRS S2 and ILPA ECDI
Deliver annual ESG and climate reporting aligned with IFRS S2/S1, ILPA ECDI, TCFD, and GRI standards
Work directly with portfolio company boards, DFIs, institutional LPs, and technical partners; provide ESG/climate training for investment teams and portfolio operators
Key requirements
Minimum 6 years of relevant leadership experience in ESG, climate strategy execution, and/or sustainability consulting within the infrastructure segment (energy, mobility, industrials, waste, water, and/or connectivity)
Good understanding of private equity and value creation objectives
Strong experience in GHG accounting, climate-risk scenario modelling, IFC Performance Standards, AfDB Operational Standards, and related safeguards
Strong experience with reporting standards such as ILPA ECDI, IFRS S2, EU Taxonomy, GHG Protocol, and Rio Markers
Strong analytical capability for KPI frameworks, scenario analysis, and audit-ready reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills for investor-grade stakeholder engagement
Proven ability to influence teams and work collaboratively with key stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; fluency in written and spoken English

Oral and written fluency in French
