Summary
Within Standard Bank’s Johannesburg investment-banking business, this role originates and structures finance for core real-estate clients and relationships that build the franchise. The Senior Vice President works with Client Coverage, the Regional Head and Sub-Segment Leads to oversee execution and coordinate the teams delivering financing solutions. Responsibilities combine property-sector insight, financial-model design, debt negotiation and transaction documentation with ownership of deal revenue targets. The role also coaches colleagues and contributes to team development. Candidates need substantial real-estate finance execution experience and the ability to advise client executives and boards within CIB risk and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Originate and structure real-estate financing with Client Coverage and regional and sub-segment leaders.
Lead negotiations for standard and structured debt solutions, coordinating commercial terms, contracting and closing.
Design valuation, financial and transaction models; test their reliability and update assumptions to support structuring.
Finalise offering memoranda, engagement letters, term sheets, pricing supplements and legal agreements.
Monitor and report assigned deal revenues and financial performance against budget.
Research client segments and provide insights for improvements to the real-estate finance offering.
Coordinate execution teams and coach colleagues to deliver integrated investment-banking solutions.
Key requirements
First degree in Business Commerce, Finance or Accounting.
Eight to ten years originating and executing real-estate finance transactions.
Eight to ten years advising C-suite management and boards, with advanced property-sector experience.
Eight to ten years developing learning initiatives and acting as a coach or mentor.
Eight to ten years applying risk-management practices and financial-services regulation, specifically within CIB.
Deal appraisal and negotiation, financial analysis and economic-research skills.
Local-market knowledge and the ability to contribute to strategic planning and reporting.
