Lead metals-and-minerals origination and client coverage for MCB’s Commodity Trade Finance team from Johannesburg.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Commodity Trade Finance, this role will grow relationships with metals and minerals businesses across Africa and selected international markets. It combines sector expertise, structured trade financing and portfolio development within the Energy, Infrastructure and Commodities team.
Key responsibilities
Originate new relationships and build a pipeline of financing opportunities across commodity value chains.
Shape transaction structures, collateral arrangements and commercial terms with credit, legal and operational teams.
Monitor sector risks and portfolio performance and coach colleagues on trade flows and market practices.
Key requirements
Experience developing metals-and-minerals relationships and financing opportunities.
Knowledge of commodity trade flows, transaction structures, collateral and sector risks.
Ability to engage senior clients, coordinate internal stakeholders and guide colleagues.
