Summary
Originate, assess and close infrastructure-finance transactions, including public-sector and municipal investments, at DBSA.
About the role
DBSA’s senior investment officer will take infrastructure proposals through commercial appraisal, due diligence, financial structuring and approval. The position requires judgement on project bankability and public-sector financing, alongside client engagement and support for less experienced investment staff.
Key responsibilities
Develop infrastructure investment opportunities and assess financial models, project risks and borrower capacity.
Coordinate due diligence, structure funding and prepare investment recommendations for approval.
Negotiate transaction terms and agreements and support implementation with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key requirements
Postgraduate qualification in finance, business, accounting, engineering, economics or a relevant field.
At least eight years of experience in financial appraisal, due diligence and closing transactions.
Knowledge of project finance and South African public-sector frameworks, including PFMA and MFMA.
