About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager focused on financing African infrastructure development. This Senior Investment Analyst role contributes to the Infrastructure Acceleration Fund team through financial analysis, modelling and research to support investment decisions across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Prepare financial analyses and build models for investment decision-making
Conduct industry, market and company research
Prepare investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders
Develop investment pipelines by identifying market trends
Provide deal execution support
Participate across the full investment cycle from origination through portfolio management
Negotiate investment documents
Assess ESG and impact aspects of investments
Work with portfolio companies to create shareholder value
Key requirements
2–4 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity, DFI or similar institution
Prior equity investment experience on completed transactions
University degree demonstrating academic excellence
Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Understanding of project finance and deal structuring
Nice to have
French language proficiency
Emerging markets experience, particularly Africa
Understanding of power, utilities, transport and ICT sectors
Prior African infrastructure knowledge and relationships
Living experience in emerging markets
