About the role
The Senior Dealmaker leads the assessment, structuring and execution of complex IDC investments. The position is responsible for leading multidisciplinary due-diligence teams, ensuring the financial soundness of credit submissions, negotiating transaction structures and mentoring Business Analysts and Dealmakers.
Key responsibilities
Evaluate and structure complex transactions using IDC financing instruments
Ensure the financial soundness of credit submissions
Lead financial, technical and marketing due diligence
Design and negotiate financial and legal relationships between IDC and clients
Identify and mitigate complex transaction risks
Lead due-diligence teams on high-value or complex investments
Align transactions with business-unit strategy and industrial-development objectives
Manage approved transactions through first drawdown
Prepare reports for Credit and other approval committees
Conduct peer reviews across due-diligence disciplines
Support business-unit strategy and action-plan implementation
Advise, train and mentor Business Analysts and Dealmakers
Lead transaction teams and coordinate internal stakeholders
Key requirements
Relevant commercial, CA or technical Honours degree
Between eight and ten years of relevant experience
Extensive transaction-assessment and closing experience
Experience leading complex transactions
Competence across financial, technical and marketing due diligence
Ability to assess legal and other transaction risks
Experience conducting peer reviews
Strong financial-statement and financial-model analysis skills
Knowledge of financing instruments, market conditions and relevant technologies
Proven coaching, mentoring and team-leadership capability
Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
