Summary
Lead infrastructure investment transactions, financial structuring and senior client engagement across DBSA’s project-finance activity.
About the role
The principal investment officer will lead deal teams in converting infrastructure opportunities into bankable transactions. The role combines origination and structuring with investment judgement, approval processes and mentoring of colleagues working on projects in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
Key responsibilities
Develop and lead financing opportunities with clients and project sponsors.
Direct financial analysis, due diligence, risk assessment and transaction structuring.
Present investment cases, negotiate financing terms and coordinate execution across deal teams.
Key requirements
Relevant postgraduate qualification in business, finance, accounting, engineering or economics, or applicable CA/CFA credentials.
At least ten years of transaction experience, with infrastructure exposure in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
Strong project-finance modelling, risk assessment, negotiation and senior stakeholder-management skills.
