About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investor and asset manager. This Investment Director role within the AGIA programme originates, structures, closes and manages project development investments supporting green infrastructure across Africa, providing leadership and technical support to project teams to ensure bankable outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Build a robust pipeline of opportunities through market trend analysis and sector expertise
Execute and oversee AGIA project development investments focused on achieving bankable outcomes
Lead complex transaction structuring with sponsors, lenders and public authorities
Maintain quality standards across the entire investment process
Develop and present investment recommendations to leadership
Lead and mentor project teams while developing junior staff capabilities
Cultivate relationships with infrastructure companies, banking partners and government officials
Develop expertise in power and transport sector operations and technologies
Key requirements
10+ years investment and industry experience in project development, investment or project finance in power/transport sectors
Experience in utilities, project finance departments, DFIs, advisory firms or infrastructure private equity
MBA, MSc or equivalent advanced qualification
Documented success closing complex infrastructure transactions
Prior experience managing and mentoring investment staff
Fluent English and French; Portuguese advantageous
