Summary
PIC’s Multi-Management: Private Markets team invests through fund partners on behalf of public-sector clients. The Investment Associate supports the team head and transaction leads in developing the fund-investment business, from identifying managers and screening opportunities through execution and ongoing oversight. Work includes diligence coordination, transaction appraisal, pricing and legal-document review, followed by monitoring a portfolio of funds. That monitoring covers quarterly reports, valuations, risk, compliance and reporting. The associate also supports disbursements, handovers and exits. PIC manages investments for public-sector entities, including pension and compensation funds, across sectors of the economy.
Key responsibilities
Identify potential investment partners and opportunities and perform desktop screening.
Prepare preliminary scoping and appraisal reports for investment decisions.
Assist transaction leads with due diligence and coordinate the relevant workstreams.
Support transaction structuring, pricing and term-sheet negotiations.
Review investment agreements and contribute comments before implementation.
Participate in disbursement and hand over approved investments to portfolio-management and other teams.
Monitor fund quarterly reports, valuations, risk, compliance and reporting requirements.
Assist the exit process for investments.
Key requirements
Honours degree in financial management, finance, investment management or a related equivalent discipline.
Four to six years of investment experience.
Knowledge of the private-equity industry.
FAIS RE 05 certificate, or obtain it within six months of joining.
Investment-analysis and basic financial-modelling skills.
Research, commercial analysis and problem-solving ability.
Clear writing, presentation and interpersonal communication.
Planning, organisation and time management across transaction and monitoring work.
Nice to have
Master’s degree.
Private-equity, fund-of-funds or multi-manager experience.
