About the role
The London-based Financial Services Debt team invests in banks, microfinance institutions, non-bank lenders and fintech businesses. This Associate supports the investment cycle from screening and credit analysis to execution and loan monitoring. The role has an explicit Francophone Africa pipeline, while assignments may also cover South Asia and South East Asia.
Key responsibilities
Assess borrowers and markets, build or review financial models and draft screening and credit proposals.
Support due diligence, stress testing, investment papers and transaction completion with senior team members.
Review borrower reporting and covenants, flag credit concerns and prepare monitoring or waiver papers.
Contribute to country and sector research, portfolio systems and technical-assistance work for investees.
Key requirements
Relevant university degree, such as finance, economics or accounting.
Working written and spoken English and French fluency sufficient to work on Francophone transactions.
Financial-statement analysis, credit assessment, modelling, Excel and clear written presentation skills.
Interest in development investing, willingness to travel and ability to manage several assignments.
Nice to have
Experience in a DFI, banking or investment environment with financial institutions; Francophone Africa experience is particularly valued.
