About the role
Africa50 is a pan-African infrastructure investment platform dedicated to closing the infrastructure gap through private investment in African projects. This internship within the Transport vertical of the Project Development team allows candidates to be part of the growth story of a dynamic and growing pan-African organisation. The role focuses on learning infrastructure project development fundamentals and improving financial modelling skills in an entrepreneurial setting.
Key responsibilities
Support the development and audit of financial models for infrastructure investments and portfolio companies
Conduct industry, market and company research
Assist in the execution of Africa50's project development investments
Prepare project-related documents for internal and external audiences
Assist in all aspects of Africa50's project lifecycle from project development to disbursement
Support the investment team in non-core investment activities
Key requirements
Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure development, project finance, transaction advisory, or strategy consulting
Currently pursuing or graduating within 12 months with an MBA, MSc, or Bachelor's from a reputable university
Fluent in English and French
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
Prior experience in the power or transport sector
Demonstrated interest or experience in emerging markets and Africa
Understanding of project finance including PPP project structuring
