About the role
The Dealmaker assesses financing proposals against IDC’s financial and industrial-development objectives. The work combines financial, technical or market due diligence with risk mitigation, negotiation and coordination of credit, legal, environmental and client requirements.
Key responsibilities
Assess funding applications and carry out the relevant commercial, technical and financial investigations.
Structure financing and negotiate terms that balance client needs, risk and development objectives.
Prepare assessment and credit proposals and coordinate legal agreements and conditions before drawdown.
Manage client relationships through first disbursement and share knowledge with analysts and other teams.
Key requirements
Relevant commercial or technical honours degree.
Five to eight years of related experience, including two to three years assessing and closing transactions.
Competence in two IDC due-diligence disciplines, with grounding in at least one.
Financial-statement analysis and knowledge of financing products, risk assessment and stakeholder coordination.
Nice to have
Chartered accountancy or agricultural qualifications and relevant sector knowledge.
