About the role
Proparco is the French private-sector development finance institution, a subsidiary of Agence Française de Développement (AFD). This national-contract position is based in Douala under the responsibility of the Regional Director Proparco Central Africa. The role participates in the development, instruction, and monitoring of financing operations for the financial sector in Central Africa, implementing Proparco's regional strategy with banks, microfinance institutions, leasing companies, insurance companies, and other financial institutions across the sub-region.
Key responsibilities
Prospecting and commercial promotion with financial-sector institutions
Present Proparco's products: individual guarantees, portfolio guarantees, trade finance guarantees, equity investments, and credit lines
Participate in prospecting visits and client meetings
Regular pipeline follow-up of prospects and clients in coordination with a senior Business Officer
Collect and analyse information to identify new financing opportunities
Prepare visit and mission reports and feed commercial monitoring tools and the regional pipeline
Participate in organising prospecting missions and annual client visits
Focus on guarantee activities (ARIZ, Impact+), financing of financial institutions, and monitoring of the existing portfolio
Key requirements
Bac+5 diploma from a business school, university, IEP, engineering school, or equivalent
Specialisation in finance, banking, economics, or development
Cameroonian nationality required
Fluency in both French and English
Nice to have
2-5 years of experience in the financial sector or development finance
Prior experience in the African financial sector, particularly in Central Africa
