About the role
Based in Johannesburg within Standard Bank’s Corporate & Investment Banking business, the Associate supports assigned public-sector relationships with guidance from experienced relationship managers. The role connects client research and documentation with solution origination, execution and ongoing portfolio support, balancing client needs with risk controls and revenue objectives.
Key responsibilities
Support assigned client relationships and coordinate colleagues across the client engagement and transaction process.
Research and analyse qualitative and financial information, preparing presentations, memoranda and other client materials.
Help originate and execute solutions that meet client needs and contribute to revenue targets.
Coordinate portfolio reporting, compliance, client queries and middle-office support while applying credit and risk judgement.
Key requirements
First degree in business or commerce.
Three to four years of relevant research and analysis experience, including preparation of client documentation.
Understanding of client coverage and experience working across teams to deliver client service.
Relevant portfolio-management support experience and a sound understanding of credit and risk.
