About the role

Proparco's Energy, Digital and Infrastructure (ENI) division finances infrastructure projects in emerging markets through loans and guarantees, with approximately 35 professionals across three teams: Energy and Digital in Africa and the Middle East; Energy and Digital in Latin America and Asia; and Urban Transitions and Mobility. This fixed-term position joins the Urban Transitions and Mobility team, which covers transport (maritime, air, rail, road, urban), water and sanitation, waste management, biomass, and critical minerals. The role operates with significant autonomy under the team leader's supervision, with the level (analyst, deal officer, or senior deal officer) confirmed based on the selected candidate's profile. French is the primary working language.

Key responsibilities

Source and identify infrastructure financing opportunities from target clients and in support of Proparco's local offices

Evaluate and structure project financing (primarily senior debt, guarantees, and bond issuances; also mezzanine, equity, and debt funds) on technical, economic, legal, and financial dimensions; assess and mitigate project risks

Analyse development impact in collaboration with internal specialist divisions

Build financial projection models and analyse multiple scenarios

Draft and present proposal notes for Proparco, AFD, and European financing mechanisms

Negotiate financial documentation with legal support

Prepare and execute disbursements with middle office support

Monitor portfolio projects throughout their lifecycle

Execute lead arranger and arrangement mandates within co-financing structures

Contribute to knowledge-sharing, best-practice capture, and experience transfer within the team

Key requirements

Professional experience in infrastructure project financing: origination, appraisal, and portfolio monitoring

Competence in financial analysis and financial modelling

Knowledge of the infrastructure sector

Autonomous and well-organised; strong analytical and synthesis skills

Comfortable with client-facing work, negotiation, and project team management

Fluent English, written and spoken (mandatory)

Fluent French, written and spoken (mandatory working language)

Nice to have

Engineering school, business school, or postgraduate university degree

Experience in limited-recourse project finance (Project Finance) modelling and legal negotiation

Spanish or Portuguese language skills

11-month fixed-term contract (CDD), from 1 October 2026 to 31 August 2027. Level will be confirmed based on the selected candidate's profile. International travel required. Role is conducted in French; strong French proficiency is required alongside English.
