Summary
Africa GreenCo is recruiting a full-time Business Development Associate in Johannesburg to help grow corporate power-procurement, independent power producer and structured-transaction opportunities in South Africa.
About the role
The role supports the full commercial lifecycle, from evaluating opportunities and engaging stakeholders to financial modelling, negotiation support and delivery coordination. It reports to the country Head of Business Development and works with GreenCo's leadership, new-ventures and functional teams.
Key responsibilities
Develop and maintain commercial pipelines, customer account plans and market intelligence for corporate power procurement and IPP partnerships.
Support deal structuring, proposals and bid submissions, including supply and offtake arrangements, term sheets and commercial risk inputs.
Build and maintain pricing and financial models, assessing scenarios, margins, affordability and risk-adjusted returns.
Coordinate deal workstreams and engage customers, IPPs, financiers, advisers and relevant market stakeholders.
Key requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, business or a related field; a relevant master's degree or professional qualification is advantageous.
At least four years of relevant South African experience in energy commercial work, infrastructure finance, corporate energy procurement, transaction advisory, renewables origination or trading/commercialisation.
Financial modelling capability in Excel, with strong commercial, project-finance and transaction fundamentals.
Strong written communication, stakeholder coordination and project-management skills; CRM experience is expected.
Nice to have
An existing South African energy-market network.
Experience with dashboards or analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
